When to repot your indoor plant ?

For beautiful plants in apartment, it is advised to repot regularly. This is done once a year in early spring, in March-April. Choose a container slightly larger than the previous one. Count 2cm more in diameter, 5cm maximum.

When to water your houseplant?

Watering needs differ according to each species. For plants that like a fresh substrate, wait for the soil to dry on the surface and water again. Each time, take care to empty the saucer. Tropical plants that like a humid and warm environment will need regular watering. Be careful, they are not aquatic plants either, you must not soak the soil! These plants like their pot to be placed on a layer of wet clay balls. These will then evaporate water and increase the hygrometry of the air. Finally, succulents need almost no watering. We only add water when the soil is very dry. We then spray a little water, only at the level of the ground.

When to prune your indoor plant?

The most important pruning takes place at the beginning of spring, when the vegetation starts again. We prune a few centimeters above a bud or a leaf. Most of the time, the objective is to branch the plant, that is to say to encourage the growth of lateral stems and to keep a compact port. At the end of winter, we do a little housekeeping by removing the stems and faded flowers. However, check the pruning needs of your plant. They are different for each species, some are never pruned!
